Alexandra McMackin
Marketing
Alexandra was adopted from Seoul at 3 months old and raised outside of Philadelphia alongside her older sister, who was also adopted from South Korea. While she grew up with some connection to Korean culture, it wasn’t until the pandemic that she began to more intentionally explore her identity and what being a Korean adoptee meant to her. That journey brought her to Los Angeles in 2021, where she also made her first trip back to Korea—an experience that deepened her desire for community and connection. Since then, Alexandra has become actively involved with the Korean adoptee community in LA and found a meaningful home with AKA-LA. Now based in Mar Vista, she brings her background in marketing to support events and help create spaces where adoptees can come together, share their stories, and feel seen.
